How do I Check into My Southwest Flight Reservations?

  • Post category:Blog

Southwest Flight Reservations – SW Airlines is a large low-cost air carrier most loved by travelers worldwide. This Dallas-based air carrier started in 1972 and has completed 50 years of its consecutive profitability. It is known for its quick turnaround time and efficient operations catering to the travel needs of millions of customers. Southwest doesn’t provide you specific seats, rather the check-in process determines the boarding zone you get and decides your seat position in the plane. Hence, it makes sense to check-in at the earliest that starts 24 hours before the flight departure.

You can check into Southwest flight reservations online, through the mobile app, or at the airport. If you are a first-time flyer or a traveler with kids, you may feel stressed and concerned whether you will be seated with your loved ones or find a less comfortable middle seat with your loved ones seated separately.

Read this blog to get tips on completing your check-in and getting the best possible boarding zone in Southwest Airlines.

How Southwest Boarding Process Works

No specific seats are assigned to travelers in Southwest. Flyers are free to choose their seats as per the boarding zones. There are three boarding groups– A, B & C with seating from 1-30 and 31-60.

A traveler is assigned a zone based on

  • The type of ticket purchased
  • Timing for check-in
  • Purchase of EarlyBird Check-in
  • Southwest Elite Status
  • Having a child of six years or younger

If you want to get into the A or B boarding zone for your Southwest Airlines reservations and haven’t purchased Business Select or EarlyBird, you must check-in at the earliest as the check-in starts. Decide how you want to receive the boarding pass as print, text, or email and get the same. You can set the alarm and check-in online from the official site of Southwest or the mobile app.
When you complete check-in through your mobile device, you can move to the check-in kiosk at the airport to get your boarding pass printed. You can get your boarding pass printed on the airport’s ticket counter or Skycap podium or curbside kiosks.
